What’s in a tiny detail? A lot, as far as a Logo Design is concerned.

Sometimes as designers usually spend too much time creating their work and glazing to their screens trying to add effects or colour, therefore unconsciously they don’t perceive the whole picture of a balanced and well composed design.
Here at the ZING Logo we find 3 clear problems that affects a proper visual appearance of the logo and its communication needs.
Comment 1:
Very narrow space between the G letter edge and the oval outline which conveys a bad visual of crowded area and a tided logo type inside the oval.
Comment 2:
Kerning between Z & I needs much consideration as it almost touching each others. This will lead to a visual communication problem later on, when applying the logo to its various use, for instance down sizing the logo for its smallest size of a 1.5 cm wide for stationary or any other use, would cause the letters ZI to appears as a one shape letter.
Comment 3:
Position, wrong positioning and fitting creates larger Space on the left comparing to the other side of the type inside the oval, this needs reconsideration of the logo elements compostion. (Type and Oval).
Considering the type as one element (Triangle inside the Oval) we should notice that the triangle can barely breath 🙂
By Setting the type in a proper aligned position in connection with the oval creates a much better visual.
PS: In any type of design, unless the unaligned elements or positioning (Randomness) is done intentialy, its a lack of planning, experience and skills.
Thanks for Sam for providing the logo as a case example here.

My Illustrator Pattern Brush (HG pattern stamp brush)

Since I was a kid, I have been always fascinated with the shape of a circular stamp. I thought it must be a very unique one, it should be a hell of work to get it out from its frame in order to use it on an envelope.

The circular stamp was one of the early items that I could relate to visual communication subjects that grabbed my curiosity. Trying to create the same border effect of a stamp to present my work, I created a pattern brush in illustrator in order to do the job.

Hope you like the usage samples of the brush, soon will be available for download to my counterparts.
